Prohibited Services Policy

1. Purpose

Home Service Hub supports legitimate local residential and commercial service work. This Policy protects people, property, and the platform from illegal, exploitative, or unacceptably dangerous activity.

We may remove content, cancel matches, suspend accounts, or refuse service when this Policy is violated — including attempts to disguise prohibited work as ordinary handyman tasks.

This Policy applies to requesters, providers, and any user who posts, solicits, or facilitates work through the Service.

2. Strictly prohibited (never allowed)

The following are banned regardless of location or claimed consent:

• Any illegal activity under applicable law.
• Trafficking, sale, or illegal transfer of firearms, explosives, or prohibited weapons.
• Drug trafficking or cultivation services that violate law.
• Sexual services, pornography production, or adult entertainment arranged through the Service.
• Any sexual content or services involving minors; any child sexual exploitation material — zero tolerance.
• Human trafficking, forced labor, or exploitation.
• Harassment-for-hire, stalking support, doxxing services, or revenge activity.
• Fraud, identity theft assistance, forged documents, or payment instrument scams.
• Hacking, unlawful surveillance installation intended to spy without required consent/authorization, or theft tools/services.
• Requests that solicit violence, terrorism, or clear intent to harm people or animals.
• Disposal or handling of hazardous waste in violation of environmental law.
• Medical, nursing, dental, or pharmaceutical practice by unqualified persons; prescription fulfillment outside licensed channels.
• Legal representation by anyone not authorized to practice law (as a marketplace service offering).

3. Regulated trades — licensed professionals only

Many home services are legal only when performed by appropriately licensed or certified professionals. The following may appear on the platform only when the provider is properly authorized for the jurisdiction and the request is lawful:

• Electrical work beyond simple consumer device replacement where local code requires a licensed electrician.
• Plumbing work that requires a licensed plumber under local rules.
• HVAC work requiring licensed mechanical contractors.
• Gas line work, and any work on fuel-gas appliances that requires licensed technicians.
• Structural changes, load-bearing modifications, foundation work, and engineering-dependent repairs.
• Roofing work where licensing/registration is required.
• Pest control / pesticide application where applicator licensing is required.
• Asbestos testing/abatement, lead paint abatement, and similar environmental remediation.
• Mold remediation when local rules require certified practitioners.
• Fire protection systems, alarms, and life-safety systems.
• Elevator / lift work.
• Septic, well, and certain water-treatment systems.
• Locksmithing where licensing applies; automotive lockout laws vary — follow local rules.
• Tree work near power lines or that requires certified arborists under local ordinances.

4. High-risk DIY and unsafe requests

We may block or remove requests that encourage untrained people to perform dangerous tasks, including:

• Main panel electrical work, meter-side work, or energizing unknown circuits without a qualified electrician.
• Entry into confined spaces with atmospheric hazards without proper training and equipment.
• Roof work in unsafe weather or without fall protection expectations for hired pros.
• Cutting into walls/ceilings without regard for electrical, gas, or plumbing pathways in a manner that solicits reckless DIY.
• Requests to bypass permits required by law.

5. Property rights and unauthorized access

• Requests to enter property without the legal right to authorize entry are prohibited.
• Services to change locks, remove tenants, or seize property must comply with landlord-tenant and repossession law; illegal lockouts and eviction circumvention are banned.
• Towing or vehicle seizure must comply with law; bootlegging or predatory towing schemes are prohibited.
• Scrap recovery or “junk” removal must not be theft or unlawful disposal.

6. Discriminatory and abusive jobs

• Requests that ask providers to refuse service based on protected characteristics in violation of law are prohibited.
• Jobs designed primarily to humiliate, entrap, or abuse workers are prohibited.
• Content that includes hate symbols intended to harass is prohibited.

7. Animals

• Animal abuse or illegal animal fighting is prohibited.
• Wildlife removal must follow local wildlife regulations; protected species handling may be restricted.
• Veterinary medical procedures must be performed by licensed veterinarians — not marketplace handymen.

8. Misuse of AI and photos

• Do not upload illegal imagery or exploitative content for “analysis.”
• Do not attempt to use AI features to obtain instructions for illegal weapons, explosives, or cyberattacks.
• Do not upload others’ intimate images without consent.

9. Enforcement

We may use automated and human review. Actions may include content removal, warning, match cancellation, account suspension, subscription termination without refund for cause, and referral to law enforcement when appropriate.

Providers who repeatedly bid on or accept prohibited work will lose marketplace access.

Requesters who repeatedly post prohibited jobs will be banned.

10. Reporting

If you see a prohibited request or offering, report it in-product where available or email hello@homeservicehub.co with links, screenshots, and context.

If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy as laws and marketplace risks evolve. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted.
