Home Service Hub

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Home Service Hub (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use homeservicehub.co, related apps, and marketplace features (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We built this marketplace so requesters can describe jobs and providers can receive relevant opportunities. Privacy practices support that purpose — not selling people’s private request photos as a product.

2. Who this policy covers

  • Requesters: people seeking local help (homeowners, renters, landlords, property managers, businesses, and guests who submit requests).
  • Providers: service businesses and their authorized users who subscribe, onboard, and receive matched opportunities.
  • Visitors: people browsing public pages without an account.
  • If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to share that company’s information with us.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information generated by your use of the Service, and information from processors and partners that help us operate.

  • Account data: name, email, phone (if provided), password hashes or auth identifiers, role (requester/provider), and profile settings.
  • Request data: job descriptions, categories, location/city/ZIP, urgency, property context, photos/files you upload, and AI-assisted summaries or suggested fields you confirm or edit.
  • Provider business data: display name, description, service categories, service areas, years in business, website, verification documents you upload (licenses, insurance, IDs), subscription plan, and billing-related metadata.
  • Communications: messages, reports, support emails, and similar correspondence sent through or about the Service.
  • Reviews and ratings: content and scores associated with marketplace experiences.
  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location derived from IP, and diagnostic logs needed for security and reliability.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session and preference cookies; analytics cookies where enabled.
  • Payment data: subscription payments are processed by Stripe (or similar). We receive limited billing metadata (status, plan, customer IDs). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

4. Sources of information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, submit a request, onboard as a provider, message, or contact support.
  • Automatically from your browser/device when you use the Service.
  • From service providers (authentication, hosting, AI, payments, email delivery) as needed to operate features you use.
  • From public or third-party sources when verifying business information, where permitted.

5. How we use information

  • Operate the marketplace: create requests, match providers, display profiles, and enable messaging and workflows.
  • Provide AI-assisted clarification of requests and related product features.
  • Process provider subscriptions, enforce plan limits, and manage billing portals.
  • Verify provider documentation and maintain trust & safety controls.
  • Detect fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and prohibited content.
  • Communicate service notices, security alerts, and (where permitted) product updates.
  • Improve matching quality, reliability, and user experience using aggregated or de-identified analytics where practical.
  • Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of users and Home Service Hub.

6. AI and photo processing

When you use AI-assisted features, relevant text, images, and context may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) to generate suggestions.

We configure these integrations to support product functionality. Do not upload content you are not authorized to share. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive data in photos (for example, visible mail with full account numbers, Social Security cards, or unrelated personal documents).

AI outputs may be stored with your request so you and matched providers can understand the job. You remain responsible for reviewing AI suggestions before relying on them.

7. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We also do not sell request photo content as a standalone data product.

  • With matched or selected providers: request details, photos, location context, and contact pathways needed to evaluate and respond to a job.
  • With requesters: provider profile information you choose to make public or that is needed for matching and engagement.
  • With service providers / subprocessors: hosting (e.g., infrastructure), database/auth (e.g., Supabase), AI processors, payment processors (e.g., Stripe), email/SMS vendors, analytics, and security tools — under contractual obligations appropriate to the service.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law, valid legal process, or necessary to protect users, investigate fraud, or prevent harm.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice where required.
  • With your direction: when you ask us to share information or use integrations that require it.

8. Public and semi-public information

Provider profile pages may show business name, description, categories, service areas, ratings, and similar public-facing details. We do not offer a public browse-all directory; requesters typically reach providers through matched requests.

Reviews you submit may be visible to others. Do not include phone numbers, addresses, or sensitive personal data in review text.

Profile URLs and matched introductions can still expose business information by design.

9. Retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain marketplace integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Request and messaging records may be retained to support matching history, fraud prevention, and customer support.

Verification documents may be retained for compliance and trust & safety as long as the provider account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.

When you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, tax, accounting, or legitimate business purposes (including backup systems for a limited time).

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, and least-privilege practices.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your credentials, and notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

11. Your choices and rights

To exercise privacy rights, email hello@homeservicehub.co with the subject line “Privacy Request” and enough detail for us to verify your identity and locate your data.

  • Access and update certain account information in product settings where available.
  • Request a copy of personal data we hold about you, subject to verification and legal limits.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to exceptions above.
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing emails via unsubscribe links (transactional/service emails may still be sent).
  • Control cookies through browser settings; disabling cookies may break login or core features.
  • Depending on your location (for example, under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights such as portability, restriction of processing, objection, or appeal of certain decisions. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

12. California and similar U.S. state notices

If you are a resident of California or another state with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to know categories of personal information collected, purposes of use, categories of recipients, and to request deletion or correction.

We do not sell personal information as “sell” is traditionally understood. If we engage in “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by law, we will provide required opt-out mechanisms.

Authorized agents may submit requests where legally permitted, subject to verification.

13. International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

14. Children

Home Service Hub is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

15. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to third-party sites or tools (for example, a provider’s website or Stripe’s customer portal). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice through the Service or by email when appropriate.

Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy where permitted by law.
